Celebrating Culture
This website offers activities which celebrate Aboriginal and Multicultural Australia - suitable for use in NAIDOC Week or on Harmony Day.
Your local Aboriginal Educational Consultative Group and local community cultural groups will be rich sources of ideas.
We suggest that these steps are important in celebrating culture:
1. Acknowledge significant places
2. Invite local Elders and community cultural leaders to speak with students
3. Explore cultural knowledge together
4. Listen to each others' life stories
5. Build a strong community - celebrate diversity, share creativity, art, writing, music, food...
Mindali (Maureen) Wenzel, Daphne Bell, Craig Tangye, Alan Pink and Lizzie Chase
